Born in Nashville, but raised in East Tennessee, Anna King returned to her Nashville roots to study Social Work at Lipscomb University. The program focused on creating Christ-like professionals who recognize the “dignity and worth of persons” as well as “the importance of human relationships”. While at Lipscomb, Anna began nannying part time for families in the Nashville area. Her simultaneous work in the social work program informed her work with young children as a nanny. Working with children of vulnerable populations in her internships by day, and then transitioning to her role as nanny in the evening, Anna began to love and appreciate the families she nannied for on a deeper level. Seeing how blessed these children were and how much of a difference that made in their lives was a very eyeopening experience for Anna. Over the next 6 years, she continued to nanny for more families and realized that it was her passion in life to love and influence all the children she was lucky enough to work with.
Our mission is to take the the stress and time out of finding a nanny for your family. Whether you are a new or experienced parent, you have probably faced the nerve-wracking task of finding quality childcare that fits seamlessly into your home. We understand that parents are busy juggling a million responsibilities and cannot always be with their children every second as they wish. You also don’t always have hours to dedicate to searching/screening/and interviewing from a giant pool of nannies. Our desire is to provide nannies that will be the next best thing to having you there with your children. We hope to eliminate stress from the process by taking over all the behind the scenes work of searching for a nanny so you have more time to spend with your kids.
THE APPLE TO BETSY STORY
While studying social work at Lipscomb University, I began nannying part time. This led to other full time nanny positions and a multitude of babysitting families that I have now known for years. After graduating I realized that nannying and working with children was what truly made me happy and I decided to commit to being a professional nanny. The name Apple to Betsy comes from two families I worked for that really inspired me. I learned so much from those children and they led me to pursue a career as a professional nanny for 6 years. After working as a nanny for years, I decided it was time to take my passion for children and families to the next level, and I am excited to bring people together in ways that will be just as meaningful as what I have been lucky to experience.
