Sweet family in Donelson is in search of a part time nanny for their two girls (3 months & 3 years). They are looking for a long term nanny that will fit organically into their family and be happy to come to work every day! They would love a nanny that can be with them long term. They do not have family in town so the nanny will play a vital and appreciated role! Mom and dad are both artists and would love their nanny to encourage creativity and art in their children.
As soon as the right fit is found!
Currently: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30-5:30pm
Fall schedule (Starting in August): 3 year old will be starting Montessori school but they are waiting for the school to announce the schedule- they will have this soon.
Guaranteed Hours: 25/week
The family has had nannies in the past so they know exactly what they are looking for! Mom and dad are both working from home currently and for the foreseeable future so the nanny must be comfortable with that dynamic. During this time, the family would ask that the nanny is being reasonably quarantined and taking precautions against Covid 19 (wearing a mask, not going to crowded placed regularly, etc.). The nanny needs to come to work each day with a schedule for the three year old so her days are structured and engaging. Since mom and dad are both artists, it is important to them for their kids to be exposed to art as much as possible! They would love a nanny that is creative and thinks outside the box. Doing age appropriate activities such as science experiments and art projects would be perfect! Until school starts in August, the nanny would have both girls all day. When school starts back care will be needed primarily for the baby girl who will be 5 months old by that time. The nanny must be comfortable with a newborn and aware of all developmental milestones. She will be transitioning to solid foods in the fall so the nanny MUST be confident using CPR and aware of all choking hazards.
The family is looking for a nanny that is not just in this for an “easy babysitting” job, but someone who is really passionate about working with children.
- 1 year commitment (would love as long term as possible)
- CPR certified
- Experience transitioning a newborn to solid foods
- Excellent open communication skills
- Passionate about children
- Reliable and on time
- Enthusiastic and Creative
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $14-16/hour depending on experience
- Guaranteed hours – 25/week
- Selection of Paid Holidays
- Paid Sick Days
New parents in Lenox Village neighborhood welcomed a baby boy about 3 months ago in March. Mom and Dad both work from home in IT and are needing help 3 days a week. They are a very laid back family and do not expect much from the nanny besides tasks directly related to the baby. They anticipate sending him to day care starting in August 2021, so this position would only be for roughly one year.
August 5th, but are flexible to start the following week. August 5th is the first day without grandparents in town, but if needed they are willing to make arrangements for that week.
One additional day is needed, and mom is flexible for nanny to choose Monday or Wednesday. (She would prefer Monday)
Nanny will spend their day with the baby bottle feeding, soothing, and playing with baby. No other responsibilities are needed besides occasional baby laundry during nap time. Mom is okay having a younger nanny, possibly someone in college as long as they have experience with with newborns and the first year. Both parents will be working from home but will likely be busy throughout the day so would love someone who is able to take initiative and have good judgment to make decisions throughout the day. They are happy to answer questions, especially in the beginning but would love someone that does not require a lot of guidance in watching a newborn. Baby boy take a special type of formula due to stomach issues, so there will be no breast milk, only formula bottles. The only responsibilities expected will be everything involved in caring for the baby (diapers, bottle feeding, etc.) and possibly baby laundry. No dishes, trash, household cleaning/organizing or errands are required.
- Experience with a newborn and first year of life- including knowledge of milestones and creative ways of helping baby master them
- Ability to commit to one year of employment
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work without being micromanaged by parents
- Able to take direction from parents and keep baby on the schedule they have for him
- Put these first time parents at ease with your ability to soothe and nurture baby
- $14-15/hr DOE
- Guaranteed hours
- Legal overtime when applicable
