JOB #FULLTIME
This fun family of four is searching for their next family nanny for their 7 year old daughter and 3 month old son. Mom and dad are both attorneys, working from home currently, and unable to give the level of attention they wish they could to their kids during this time of shut downs. Baby boy is still sleeping most of the day besides feeding and short play times, so the focus is mainly on their daughter. G7 is a sweet and fun girl that loves all things crafts, books, games and playing outside! She loves to have a companion during the day to do things alongside, so a fun nanny that is willing to get on the floor for a game or some make believe is exactly what they are looking for. Mom and dad take G7’s opinion into account as well during this search, but as long as you are a fun and involved nanny that loves to play (not setting up an activity and watching her do it solo while you scroll your phone) she will LOVE you!
START DATE:
ASAP
SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday 8-5pm / Willing to provide a formal 1 hour lunch break if desired
Approximately 45 hours per week
DESCRIPTION:
Mom and dad work long hours (sometimes 40-60/70 per week) as attorneys and need a reliable nanny that can provide a fun and engaging environment for their daughter. She just turned seven and is starting second grade at the University School of Nashville this year. She will be home for the foreseeable future so someone willing to help with her school day would be needed. The family is taking things very seriously surrounding Covid 19 due to having a new baby in the home and some other family health problems that make them more vulnerable. It is important that the nanny is taking things seriously as well and willing to take safety precautions such as wearing a mask in public and avoiding large groups.
Care for their son is needed but he is low maintenance at this age so the nanny will be mainly focusing on the G7. She loves to engage with someone and has had 2 wonderful nannies in the past that she loved that both had to leave due to moving. She is a typical seven year old who loves to play games, do crafts, read books, play outside, etc. Mom and dad are pretty laid back and definitely do not micromanage. As long as she is eating a nutritious lunch and staying active and stimulated throughout the day and not in front of a screen they are happy! Someone that genuinely enjoys being with children and can play with her and connect is exactly what they want to find.
Household chores are very minimal and will be mainly focused around the children; clean bottles, child areas, child laundry. Mom and dad would love for their nanny to help with dishes and any other things around the house that they notice that would be helpful. For example, if there is a pile of children’s art that’s been sitting on the table for a while, take initiative and ask if you can sort through it. They really appreciate those types of things!
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
- $21/hour – after 6 months there will be the chance to discuss a raise to $23/hour
- 8 days of PTO/sick days per year
- Paid holidays
- Choice of traveling with family on vacation for one week per year- this is not required but may be offered
JOB #EASTNASH (PAUSED)
This East Nashville family is on the search for a great part time nanny for their almost 4 year old boy and 18 month old daughter. They are a fun and laid back family that needs a reliable nanny to provide educational stimulation and fun for their kids two days a week. Mom is a hair dresser so a reliable nanny is imperative as she will not be paid if she has to be home unexpectedly due to a nanny’s late notice unavailability. They are happy to be flexible with the nanny but need overall consistency. A fun and nurturing nanny that enjoys working with preschool ages on creative activities would be ideal!
START DATE:
Mid August
SCHEDULE:
2 days per week (probably Tuesday/Thursday, but will be discussed with the nanny to decide)
Hours will be either 9-5 or 10-6 and can be determined by what works best with the nanny
14-16 hours per week / will decide on an amount of guaranteed hours
DESCRIPTION:
A typical day for this family lately has been: Wake up and eat breakfast, get ready for the day, sit down with 4 year old for a “morning meeting”, play time, lunch, nap, play time. This family is very flexible and each day does not have to look the exact same. They have scheduled sleep times that work the kids but the other activities can vary depending on the children’s interests each day. The morning meeting is a simulated activity based on what the 4 year old boy does at school. This consists of some type of educational activities depending what he is working on at the time. The parents are happy to provide materials for the nanny but it would also be great if the nanny has creative ideas on their own and is able to take charge of this. The children do not have strict screen time boundaries, but parents do not want this to be a crutch. They would like the children to be active and engaged in play and education throughout the day with the nanny such as inside and outdoor play. Incorporating learning into this as much as possible would be wonderful!
MUST HAVE:
- Reliable and not calling into work often- mom and dad’s jobs are greatly affected by this and need stability
- Easy going nanny with a joy for encouraging children’s developmental milestones
- Great communication skills
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
- $18-20/hour DOE
- Guaranteed hours
JOB #BWDGIRL (POSITION FILLED)
This on the go family is learning how to navigate their new normal as one of their girls is going to be doing school virtually. Mom and dad work from home in sales. Dad typically travels often but that has been halted for now due to Covid19. Their goal is to provide consistency for their daughter with a nanny that can keep her productive and active during these uncertain times. This family is full of life and would be a great fit for a nanny that is energetic, motivated, organized, and ready to hang out with a sweet six year old!
START DATE:
August
SCHEDULE:
The exact schedule will be determined when mom gets more information from school but it will likely be:
Monday-Friday / 4-5 hours per day / exact hours TBD as soon as mom gets the school schedule soon
DESCRIPTION:
The ideal nanny for this position will be able to jump in and take initiative during the day to help the day run smoothly. This will look like: overseeing/helping with virtual schooling, encouraging some active playtime such as taking a walk around the neighborhood or playing outside, doing some arts and crafts, helping fix lunch/clean up afterwards. The nanny may be asked to run the occasional errand such as a trip to the post office or grocery store. Their daughter and her sister (who will be in school) have dance and voice lessons so the nanny may be asked to drive them to this depending on the schedule. Mom is very involved and loves to drive to these activities, but sometimes that is not possible so the nanny needs to be willing to jump in and take over! The main focus is going to be that their daughter stays on top of her school work as mom does not want her to fall behind due to being virtual. The idea behind finding a nanny is to provide a constant outlet for her to be engaged and busy while at home since mom and dad are both working full time and not always available throughout the day! An energetic and outgoing nanny who is organized would be the perfect fit for this family.
MUST HAVE:
- Organized and detail oriented
- Full of energy and able to encourage creativity and fun
- Loves a busy household where there is never a dull moment!
- Dependable and on time
- Willing to help with errands and other household projects
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
- $15-18/hour DOE
- Paid holidays
- Legal overtime
- Guaranteed hours
JOB #SISTERS (POSITION FILLED)
Sweet family in Donelson is in search of a part time nanny for their two girls (3 months & 3 years). They are looking for a long term nanny that will fit organically into their family and be happy to come to work every day! They would love a nanny that can be with them long term. Fall schedule (Starting in August): 3 year old will be starting Montessori school but they are waiting for the school to announce the schedule- they will have this soon.
Guaranteed Hours: 25/week
DESCRIPTION:
The family has had nannies in the past so they know exactly what they are looking for! Mom and dad are both working from home currently and for the foreseeable future so the nanny must be comfortable with that dynamic. During this time, the family would ask that the nanny is being reasonably quarantined and taking precautions against Covid 19 (wearing a mask, not going to crowded placed regularly, etc.). The nanny needs to come to work each day with a schedule for the three year old so her days are structured and engaging. Since mom and dad are both artists, it is important to them for their kids to be exposed to art as much as possible! They would love a nanny that is creative and thinks outside the box. Doing age appropriate activities such as science experiments and art projects would be perfect! Until school starts in August, the nanny would have both girls all day. When school starts back care will be needed primarily for the baby girl who will be 5 months old by that time. The nanny must be comfortable with a newborn and aware of all developmental milestones.
